Become an expat in Alicante

I first visited Alicante around about 1987. It looked very much like this photo in that there was no marina, or cruise ship terminal. All that has changed over the last 25 years and the city is now a vibrant cosmopolitan town, with plenty of shopping, night life and great restaurants.
Most expats probably don’t think about moving to the city itself, preferring to live 30 – 45 minutes out of town, in resorts such as Torrevieja to the south, and Benidorm to the north. But if you want the benefits of a big town, with the flavour of Spain, then Alicante is well worth a visit.
This article by Matthew Hirtes is a great starting point if you are looking to become an expat in Alicante.
