Course Description

Alicante Golf is on the Mediterranean coast, next to the spectacular San Juan beach and only 5 minutes from the centre of Alicante.A green haven set in a residential area, the course features wide fairways lined with thousands of trees.

Severiano Ballesteros designed this fantastic 72-par course that includes six par-three holes, six par-four holes and six par-five holes, meaning that no two consecutive holes are played with the same par in any one round. This format makes play more varied and entertaining and gives golfers many more chances of scoring a birdie. Seve also designed 5 large lakes affecting 12 of the 18 holes, resulting in an attractive and challenging course for golfers of all abilities.

I really like the way it winds it way through different housing developments, but be warned, you need a buggy because the distance between green and the next tee can be a few hundred yards. The par 3 15th is surrounded by apartments and it feels like you are playing in a stadium – you tee shot can get some applause from the residents!”

Finding the course is the first hurdle. Sat nav does not bring it up,and we spent an hour driving round finding numerous areas of the golf course but not the actual entrance! Not signposted at all. Course layout is good with nice mix of holes, greens soft and quite poor.

Enjoyable course and a good test. Thinking required around the hazards including some water holes. Overall course was in excellent condition, greens ran true. Good practice facility putting green, chipping green, bunker green, driving range.

Contrary to some other reviews, I played Saturday afternoon about 3h45 round not too slow. Also found the facilities reasonable at the clubhouse. Closest course to Alicante old town, definitely will play again.

Played in a 3 club wind a serious test! Also got a discount for booking online.

Always in excellent condition a joy to play. If you stray off the fairway you have a shot but a challenging one. The greens look like they have been hand cut with scissors. Watch out for the lake at the 18th when lining up your putt, go to far back and your in the lake (happened to one of us).
